Religious Education

The purpose of Religioud Education (RE) is to support children's own values, to contribute to the promotion of British Values and to children's spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.  This entails enabling children to interpret and respond to a variety of concepts, beliefs and practices within religions and their own and other's cultural and life experiences.  Activities include encountering religious stories, festivals, places of worship, rituals and beliefs.

RE at Meredith Infants is taught in accordance with the legal requirement of the Agreed Syllabus for Portsmouth, Living Difference.  Parents have the right to withdraw their child from parts or all of RE lessons.  We recommend booking an appointment with a member of senior leadership if you have further questions and would like to know more about the concepts we explore.

At Meredith Infants we learn about the religions Christianity and Hinduism.
