Our Curriculum

Early Years

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the statutory framework that sets the standards we work towards to ensure the children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe; it gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for school and life. We have linked these standards to topics to provide meaningful learning experiences for the children. The children stay with their class teacher for the majority of the day only moving to work in ability groups for their phonics learning.

Key Stage One - Years 1 and 2

The National Curriculum gives us the minimum requirement of what has to be taught in Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2). We have linked these subjects to topics to provide meaningful learning experiences for the children that develop their skills and knowledge. The children stay with their class teacher for the majority of the day only moving to work in ability groups for their phonics learning and maths in Year 2.
